**Please note Radiology services are no longer accepting Routine or Urgent referrals made after 27th March 2020. Patients will not be sent an appointment**

Stay at home if you have Coronavirus symptoms

Stay at home for 7 days if you have either:

  • A high temperature
  • A new, continuous cough

Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you are staying at home

Urgent advice: Use the NHS 111 online Coronavirus service if:

  • You feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home
  • Your condition gets worse
  • Your symptoms do not get better after 7 days

Whittle Surgery update 29.4.20

Our Collaborative network are now offering telephone triage appointments on Saturdays and Sundays (9am-2pm).

The phone lines are open 8am-2pm and you need to call 01257 514300 to book one of these appointments.

Dear patients in light of the Coronavirus and to limit the risk of cross infection we have put measures in place at this time;

Appointments - Please do not attend the practice - we will be offering telephone triage appointments as 1st line

Prescriptions - Please ensure when you order your prescription you nominate a pharmacy to allow us to send it electronically

PHARMACY NOTICE 

Whittle Pharmacy will be closing for 1 hour between 1pm - 2pm Monday - Friday during this unprecedented time.  Please be aware of this when collecting medications.

End of an Era

Dr Shaw has retired on 31st December 2019 and will be missed dreadfully by colleagues, staff and friends here at Whittle Surgery.  We would like to thank him for his many years of expertise, hard work and dedication to our patients.  We wish him and very long, happy, healthy and well earned retirement. Any patients with Dr Shaw as their named GP have now been transferred to Dr Fairhurst.  

Phlebotomy, Midwife, Podiatry Clinic Appointments

From the 1st October the Phlebotomy, Midwife and Podiatry Clinic will be held at Euxton - 114 Wigan Road PR7 6JW

 Practice Closures for Staff Training

The surgery will be closed at 13.00 on the following dates in 2020 for training and education:- 10.03.20, 28.04.20, 09.06.20, 14.07.20, 08.09.20, 13.10.20 & 10.11.20

Out of Hours Cover

If you need urgent medical attention outside of our surgery hours please ring 111-they will be able to give advice and arrange appointments where necessary
