End of an Era

From 13th January 2018 we have been be working with other local practices (Withnell Health Centre, Drs Baghdjian/Jacobs at Chorley Health Centre, Preston Road Surgery & Clayton Brook Surgery), to provide you with access to a doctor every night until 20.00 during the week and Saturday & Sunday at varying times. Please see the "Opening Times" page for more details.
Whittle Surgery will only accept medication requests from you or your carer (apart from in exceptional circumstances by arrangement). If your medicine is currently ordered for you by your pharmacy or a dispensing company, you will now need to order it yourself directly from your GP practice.
Why is this happening?
It is important that you only order the medication that you currently require. Medicines that are not taken and are therefore wasted cost the NHS approximately £300 million every year. Locally, across Chorley and South Ribble and Greater Preston CCGs up to £6 million could be saved by reducing medicines waste.
Changes in Prescribing Policy-Self Care
Please view the Self Care page at the bottom of this home page for more information on the changes in prescribing recently introduced by Chorley & South Ribble CCG.
If you have any questions or concerns about these changes, please contact the CCGs’ customer care team on 01772 214601 or email email@example.com
The surgery will be closed at 13.00 on the following dates in 2019 for training and education:- 14.01.20, 11.02.20, 10.03.20.
